only you can make the decision.. its gotta be what YOU want and not what everyone else thinks you should do...

if you decide to take the CA out of the wagon... the LAGWAGON will always live on in many ways.. and in particular that hilux lsd is going to live on propelling my 1200 ute

so there you have it! i bag the diff!!! SOLD

good luck with your choice

damn it! phunk doc you're brutal blow of realtiy is right. my real money pit is my other 1600. and i really should get matching tracksuits. my girlfriend loves the wagon so this is not a winging chick thing, i'm just a sucker for a project. BUT the wagon is unique and well known. i have had random people come up to me asking if i am the guy who owns LAGWAGON (as i'm getting in it) who's gonna ask if i'm the guy who owns that white 1600?

it would be like AD selling his coupe for a bluebird or chris shoesmith selling GTR 110 for a 1000 sedan or dodgeman selling his 1000 coupe and buying a 200b wagon

sadly, i have become, and will be another nobody without "LAGWAGON". its my curse

Leigh i never knew you could do this! Parting with the wagon, i mean THE WAGON!! Total sleeper and is a top notch car. Does a bit of shabbyness really worry you all that much? Whats to say a quick respray on the outside an patching up little things in the interior?
Interior stuff is piss easy and doesnt take long at all, new carpet, door trims, roof liner etc its simple stuff which reaps huge rewards.
If you think about it to me it is going to cost MORE than buying the 1600 and doing mods to this rather than fixing up the 1200 wags. motor, driveline, structural it all adds up for the 1600 surley.....

BUT if you were to stumble across a 1600 Wagon you should do up that, but i wouldnt let you do it.....because id buy it before you

Do the 1200 wags
Dave

Keep the wags. Leave it as is. Only fix it if it needs mechanical or rust repairs. Buy his and hers matching $25 tracksuits. Save your money for your SR 1600 like you originally planned.

buy the 1600,stick an l18 in it,leave it alone otherwise.should be a nice daily driver.a daily driver doesn't need to cut 11 second quarters,it needs to drive nicely, have a little bit of go,& sit comfortably in peak hour traffic jams.keep the wagon, clean it up,use it on weekends to race.then, when you're in the 1600,& some numb skull cuts you off,you can think 'if only i was in the wagon',& keep you're license. as for the 1000,sell it to chris daly,so he can get a 1000 race car to go with the 1000 show car.

you cant scrape together $2000 ???

$1000 for each car

with the wags how far do you think $1000 would go ?? i can get you parts from a couple 1200 sedans .... doors gaurds and bits and pieces ???? some inside bits ... bit of body work .... sort out the pos camber ....

how cleans this 1600 ??? might have a little room in my garage

funny thing is, the girl loves the wagon. its not her doing the convincing! the 1600 is totall unmolested. a spray job and an easy conversion is all i'd do. i am regaining the 1200 love tho. its just that after all that i've done to it it still needs new paint, a door, prep work, door rubbers, little rattles sorted.

i bet the 1600 won't run an easy 11 second pass tho...

....................................???

fare dilemma you got there

the wags is pretty shabby on the outside ..... and in ..... and if the 16's half as good as it sounds ..... all original you say ??? ..... i'd be going the 16 and part out the wags
as much as that hurt typing, you'll still have the 1000 racecar ..... i've got to find a tissue to wipe my eyes ........

seriously i'd go the 1600
