They're probaly the wrong side of US$5.00 a gallon at the moment. Even higher if you use premium.

Here in San Diego, we're about U.S. $2.80/gallon for regular, and we're supposed to be the highest in the country.

I afree with all of you that petrol prices are ridiculously high at the moment and unlikely to get down below $1.00/litre again.

However, let's all remember that Datto's are cheap to run and we are far better off than those who run Falcons, Commodores etc let alone V8's. I can still get just under 400 km on a tank (mine i9s a daily driver), so I'm not complaining.

It will probably make our cars more valuable if fuel prices keep rising.

no,the petrol station is usually locked in to a contract with the supplier, who tells him what
price to sell the fuel at.when petrol discounting was happening, the station was buying at one price, then the supplier was telling them how much they would refund,to allow a lower price.the petrol station is usually only making 2 - 3 cents profit per litre,so a 40 litre fill up gives the servo 80c to a $1.20.this is why petrol stations sell so much other stuff,so they don't go broke.

Yeah its bloody insane, the BP in my suburb of Riverside unleaded is at $1.23 and my dad's BA Falcon im driving atm eats it up and now im out of pocket!

I heard on the radio about 2 months ago that its suppose to hit at least $2.00 per litre by Feburary 2006... now thats going to extreme

But surley its the petrol stations decision at what to sell it? Thus the cheaper the petrol the more customers will flock there and in the end I'm sure they'd come out on top in the profit areas...
As A14 said, 'when will it end?'

I paid $1.24.9 on Wednesday for BP Ultimate which is the most expensive petrol I have ever bought here in Brisbane.
