Ok guys as there seems to be lots of 1000's about lets talk about their suspension and how we can keep these things on the road
I'll go first
Gas Shock for the front
What I have used is Torana GTR front shocks.
Press out the torana lower pin as its not long enough for us
Fit new rubbers to bottom eye. I used Nolothane ones and I'm trying to find the part # for them for you guys. They aren't shock rubbers though I think they were steering rack bushes so I have to find the paperwork and let you know.
The rubbers need to be glued together inside the shock eye or they will work loose.
I then made a stainless steel lower pin to mount the shock to the radius rod
I used solid stainless as the old pin is hollow and tended to bend.
For the upper mount I removed the rubber bushes as I was replacing them with the urethane again. I reduced the thickness of the shock eye to the same as the datsun original shock as it was too wide to fit on the mounting stud.
Fitted the urethane bushes and a crush tube so the bushes didn't distort too much and bolt it on.
The shocks were the closest to length I could find in a gas shock at the time
