Torquemeister A15?

I have collected various bits & pieces to build an A15 for my sedan & was wondering which combination will best suit my purposes. I want torque rather than outright horsepower & although I am not really worried about fuel economy, I don't want it to waste fuel. I have an A14 oval port head (rebuilt) but twin 40ml Dellortos on a round port manifold. I already have extractors on the A12 & apparently the head has had a bit of work but probably needs rebuilding. I was thinking that the A15 with a mild cam, round port head, twin dellortos & extractors would be a good combination in a street car. By the way, luckily someone has fitted a late model A12 so the engine mounts have already been modified.

Don't be vexed, but you're going to need to find an oval port intake to go with the A14 head.

Why? Can't I use an A12 round port head?

Doesn't make much sense to choke the larger displacement block with a small port head. Even the factory didn't do it. Just don't go hog wild on the camshaft if you want torque vs. rpm hp.

Yeah, I was just curious to see if anyone had done it & what it ran like. The cost will probably be much of a muchness as I either have to buy a manifold or rebuild a head. I have to pull the head off the A12 to see if it's got bigger valves fitted.
