this one's not me .... speaking to my 84 year old grandfather yesterday, he owns a merc 500SL, 0-100kmh in 4.9secs, and last month took it for a drive ...... 220kmh figured the books said it is good for 312 so he'd give it a try
as for me ..... last weekend, ocean rd cruise, wound it out in 4th to 6500rpm'ish then went for 5th .... neck and neck with ange's green rotor, both of us well off the speedo numbers

Fastest I have been so far was 265 km/h in my brother's Mustang...it was a bit too floaty for my taste so I didn't push it anymore than that. I was on a totally deserted 4 or 5 lane highway at about 3am, otherwise I'd never go that fast.

I've only taken the Datsun up to about 208 km/h so far cause it needs an alignment and bigger rear tires, it gets up to 190 km/h in just a quarter mile though! But it should be able to push about 250 km/h if I ever felt safe enough to do it
