I guess any oil cooler that can handle 90 psi is suitable. just flush it out good.
I have one out of some mitsubishi, it works fine, i think it has a built in thermal regulator, so you could save some money there, I have an external regulator, since you don't want the oil too cold. you might want a check valve too to keep the oil from draining back in to the sump.

so your saying that it would work fine, oil wouldnt be too thick or thin for the cooler???
2 probs with that, the radiator is struggling as is, and then it wouldnt be external mount like the japanesse ones (would i be dis-owned by this site for doing that?)

How about a radiator with the trans cooler built in? There are some good options there that would meet your non-racing needs. The auto Pulsar N13 has an alloy rad with built-in trans cooler for example.

just what it says really, could i use an auto trans-cooler for cooling the engine oil effieciently?
