Hahahaha, I just checked that site there and you need over 455,000 hp to get a 1 second 1/4 mile time in a 120y coupe

I found this web site http://www.web-cars.com/math/qtr_mile.html I don't know how accurate it is but for a rough guide I think could help I am worried about your 4 speed though, I suspct they could be made of plastic or some kind of soft cheese

Sorry to ddgonzal & others not in Oz, Its a Acura TSX in the US. It runs a 140kw 2.4 4cyl with a 6 speed manual and weighs about 1400 kg. Thanks AFRacer, I was interested to see the 7 sec 0-100kph time as that is more important to me than quarter mile times. Probably even more important is 0 - 60kph. I was considering running an SR20 N/A but it looks like I can achieve what I want with the A15 without huge expense & not spoil the handling with extra weight.

personally I would like to see same era cars compared eg 74 EB1 civic that has had a Yoshimura kit put in it.
We did one up for a customer all we did was o/s pistons, twin carbs, exhaust and I dont think we did any porting and man that phucking thing went like dog shot in the ass s.
To be realistic the A series engine is a copy of the Pomy A series which gos back to the fifties.

I disagree, your A15 1200 will be able to beat a Honda anyday if you build it right. You'll probably have to do more than dual carbs, higher compression, and an electronic ignition however. You need a bigger cam to eat the fuel up on those carbs, also you need headers and a good exhaust to let it breathe out all you're putting in. You should look into a lightweight flywheel and headwork also.

My A15 had stock compression but a .229 duration cam (@.050" lift), rebuilt and balanced rotating assembly, alloy flywheel, dual Dellortos, Nismo header, oversize Si valves w/dual springs, ported and polished head, electronic ignition, 1.5:1 Nismo rocker arms, and electronic fans and fuel pump, and it did about those times (high 15's in the quarter mile, 0-100 kmh in about 7 seconds). I say go for it, it'll be way more fun than your Honda!

0-100kph (0-60mph) in 8 seconds is fairly quick (it's what V8s did in the 60s).

My guess is no, the Accord will be quicker than your A15.

Power-to-weight:

100hp
--
1700 lbs

vs

150 hp
--
2500 lbs

The Accord would have the edge. What year Accord is it, and which engine?

What, no opinions? How about what will it take to beat my Honda (no, not a stick). And no, I am not talking about street racing, just a quick blast away from the lights & up to about 80 kph. Their is nothing worse than being beaten away from the lights by a family sedan or even worse a falcadore repmobile (auto).
