Sorry minnesh, my comment wasn't actually directed to you. I think a 13.85 is probably at the outer limits of what a maximum effort A14 could do. There certainly wouldn't be many around that can do it, but its not impossible.

I just reckon its bullshit that the Bathurst 1200 production cars of the 70's were pulling 11000rpm down Conrod straight.

darren on this site has an a-series reving to 10,500rpm quite frequently in his spint car

it's definately possible!!!

i dont think a high 13 is as difficult to achieve as some of you guys might think, the CA 1200's (standard motor running higher boost) are beating this with stock suspension and single spinner diffs

didnt go_the_datto clock 13's under the above conditions?

Minnesh, what is the pupose of this thread?
Are you saying that you have an a14 that will do this time? Or that you know someone/read about one that could do it?
You're not saying much.

I heard about a bloke with an A10 that did a 10.4 on stock motor diff and tyres. He had grape, orange, and rasperry fanta injection though.

you can't really compare a methanol burning sprintcar and a 70's production car, and keep a straight face can you? I doubt the Sprintcar makes power anywhere near 10,500rpm too if its still using the ohv production A series layout.

yeah if a stock turbocharged 1.8l twin cam 16v engine with the wick turned up and a big exhaust and intercooler can do it, it will be a walk in the park for a carbied A series

1200 gx head
A14 block
runs on 102 octane
still loking for some quarter mile times from
there however must be A 14 normally apirated.
I do not want to compare turbo cars with a normally asoirated car

minnesh I think your 1/4 mile time is pretty impressive but I don't think you'll find many people to compare times with because most people running A14s or in fact any A-series engines are either into racing, rallying or they just enjoy their 1200s as nice road cars.
I don't know of any A-series powered drag cars here in NZ,
