arent the sunny and stanza front ends pretty much the same, except that late model stanza's have better brakes. so wouldnt it make sense to just do the stanza conversion.

or is there something about the sunny struts that make it better in some cases?

Pretty sure the sunny is still the lightweight version (smaller strut tube diameter) the only one I looked at had one caliper missing so I didn't seriously consider the conversion.

bits to get are lower control arms, sway bar & radius rods. steering drag links can be adjusted and tie rod ends are "generally" the same (all the ones I have seen) I got the whole lot (stanza) just in case but didnt use it. Super cheap should have spring compressors (but nothing else- useless tossers)

As for models, I am not sure.

some of the 120y's had better quality alloy calipers than others not sure about sunny's.

The best, first & probably the cheapest thing that ANY car owner without experience should get is a WORKSHOP MANUAL for your make & model.
Have a look here to see if there is one that you like.
Keep this link & check back from time to time. A manual will be the best value thing you ever buy for your car.

i've got some springcompresors they are only cheap $50 (the others where $120)

i put new custom springs and kyb shocks into my mates ae86, last weekend it was easy with a genuine toyota workshop manual... it droped the ride hight an 1-1.5in and it is heaps stiffer they are 4.8 and 4.4 kg/mm and it corners flat after blasting threw a few corners i am more keen then ever to do my upgrade...

i still think that 120y struts are the best option for me at the moment... i no stanza would be the best choice... but... im chicken... and i don't know how much they would cost... if i can find a set in tassie... i havnt looked mind you i should do some home work first right

please help me someone
im in a state of confusion................ and i like to press that dot button............

sorry for being a pain, i just can't stand my car being stock!!! need to upgrade....

im only 16 and yes this is my first car and i intened to keep it for a long while, and i have polished every thing inside my car at lessed 3 times now.... and i like nothing moer than the satisfaction of enjoying the perfomance of a new upgrade... also there is the safety aspect too of disk brakes...

thanks to any one who trys to help me, im not stupid i just can't make up my mind..

If you can do the 120Y struts cheap and easy than go for it. It will better than stock , throw in some decent dampers , sway bars , tires and the car will be fun to drive. Then as money/time permits you can upgrade over a few year period. We did the cheapy suspension thing when I first started racing the coupe and it worked well enough for a few seasons till I found proper race parts cheap.

OR........Hookers and Beer!! As you are only 16 you will not be prosecuted heavily when you get caught , you will get caught as you are only 16 , your Dad will be furiuos but come down quickly. Of course your Mother will look at you and shake her head for the next 5 years , but as you are only 16 she probably will do this anyway.

being married, i find the best way to spend money is if i actually spend it myself!... and on the cars not on nappies.

I have 120y disks on my ute, they do ok in spirited driving but not for track work (they tend to fade after 3-4 big high speed stops).
120y is the easiest and heaps of claped out 120ys in tassie, you could even get the brake booster too.
