hey
i have recently fitted a 32/36 downdraught weber on my A15 and even afer using existing posts and the search function i still have a couple of questions. My carby has a water choke on the and i am unsure how to connect this to the system. I have also been told by others just to block it off. I am interested in what others have done and would appreciate any advice given

cheers

all you have to do is hook it up between your heater hoses.Run your heater hose to the choke , then run the other side coming out of the choke to the other heater hose going to the front of the engine.

if you want something easier you can convert it to electric choke, you can get this from other cars I think from an older falcon (XF?) or from a carby shop and you just have to connect one wire looks neat.

sometimes its better to block it off as in an a-series engine bay this water choke will sit higher than your radiator cap, which means it's quite likely there will be an air lock there when you fill up your coolant

i've had them running without the choke quite fine as long as it is good tune it will still start well, if you decide to remove the whole water choke assembly there is one hole which needs to be plugged, otherwise it becomes an air leak, i dont have a diagram of which it is but i think it is one of the original screw holes that holds the choke onto the carby
