I have seen under dash units available from a guy on Ebay that looked pretty compact. I think they are mainly used in hot rods.

Would it be possible to mount an a/c unit designed for a house window in the tray and then run a power inverter to the cigarette lighter? Just a thought out of left field as I saw 1hp window units for $299 in the post Xmas sales and it got me thinking........

My partner has seen this thread and now she wants a/c for her 1200, ive seen quite a few 120y's with aircon. Might just use a switch instead of choke on dash. Also could fit evaporator unit up under glovebox maybe making a different glovebox card would give more room, i have one of those coupe trays that go under the glovebox which would hide all the wiring etc. The compressor itself will bolt up as its an a-14. Its just finding the unit and having a go i guess. Probably have to run a later model hitatchi carb for an idle compensator and auto choke so choke holes free. At least I will have a valid excuse for going to u-pull-it this weekend.

Oh and run elec fans so can get condensor up front, it'll be a squeeze!

That is classic Cable_Tie! I lived in South Florida and in that humidity even this doesn't seem like over kill. Also love the repositioned tail lights after someone side swiped this car in shock.

Whitesedan there is a difference between having a joke and being a smartarse. Being first to reply to someones question with a smartarse comment, isnt funny. Think about it. Its all good to ignore it but eventually it brings down the quality of the forum in everythread.
