i've got mine .... unpacked it, held it, admired it, repacked it and stored it away safe and sound till i get my ute diff organised
as for the workmanship, it looks the part .... no, it actually looks fantastic and for how well it works i don't think i'll be finding out for a few weeks yet by all accounts, and from another well respected member who has purchased one, they should be more than adequate for the purpose, and the workmanship is top notch

H165 differentials were used in pretty much all live axles under 410 & 411 Bluebirds, as well as the 521 Pickup trucks & probably a few newer models of these as well.
They were used in all passenger models that used the L series engine that had a live rear axle & leaf or coil springs right up to the end of the series 2 Bluebirds in February 1985. Included in this lot are the earlier Stanza's. The only exceptions that I know of are the 200B's that were fitted with a Warner rear axle assembly from sometime in '78 untill the end of 200B production & later versions of the Stanza. So there must be very few Datsuns around in W.A. if these diffs are virtually extinct.

the cars listed by dodgeman may all have H165 "diff centres" ..... but the "diff housing" they are installed into are not going to fit into a 1200 sedan due to the varying widths of the vehicle they came of. the best you can do is measure the widths and hopefully find one close to the width of the 1200 housing

What blofly asked about was the diff [differential], not the rear axle assembly which is quite different. Sorry if I got it wrong. The only real bolt-in H165 rear axle assembly will be the 1200 ute one. Everything else will really need to be narrowed unless those somewhat unatractive 'front drive offset' wheels are used & even then, there may well be clearance issues. These H165 rear ends were originally intended for the larger L series powered vehicles & small truck models, but proved to be a very convenient, ready made upgrade for the ute. All that was required was for the vendor to adjust the jigs for the new narrower width to suit the 1200. Finding the ute rear end will be worth the time, effort, & money in the long run
