The amount of work ,problems and frustrations you are about to create for yourself are not worth the doubtful rise in value you are hopeing to get on the car.
People are really only interested in buying modded or turboed motors if they are sorted, and the budget you have allowed for the whole project is barely enough to get a hot naturally aspirated motor tuned, let alone build and install a turboed setup from scratch. My experience is that more people are interested in buying unmolested, unmodified cars than are interested in modified cars, in many peoples mind modified reads unreliable, hard to fix and generally unsatisfactory. Some one might buy your wagon for their daughters first car but if you turbo it they wont even look at it

this is only constructive criticism and a little food for thought .....
you sound like your selling the wags cos your not really happy with it or the slow progress and the hassles it's been havin ?? trying to build an A12 with a turbo stuck on it to transplant will only bring more unhappyness as an end result .... leave the A15 in it, swap in a milder cam and drive it as your daily while trying to sell it. if your that keen on the turbo idea, start building one on an engine stand, or instead - buy a new A15 and give it a better rebuild than the last with the knowledge you've aquired to date, while saving a little cash to go to the new project, once the wags sells you'll have extra $$$ to do some bigger stuff ..... just a couple ideas ... good luck though, with whichever route you choose

So you want to build a turbo a12 like others have said choose the car you want ....
forget the decomp plate theres no real need for it .Atleast use a a14 head on an a12 as the head flows better . read through the tech section and learn how to lock the diizzy up save a lot of detonation problems later on in the tunning process.. Make your flange for the manifold and start with buying some steam pipe .You should be able to pick up a good working turbo for under 150 $ and su carbys are cheep as .you will need a electric fuel pump the turbo will lean out and probablly blow on you due to lack of fuel...I have a name of a company that has a program on there profile cutter for the a14 flanges if you want one done ..cheers

My dad drives an austin mini pickup truck that he built, recently he just got done putting in a new engine which is trubo'd.
The engine is an austin metro turbo engine 1.3L it uses a blowthrough turbo SU carb setup. I drove the thing last summer and it honestly hauls a$$... I had the idea to bolt that exact same setup to my A12. Mainly becuase I could get all the parts from him for free and becuase the engine sizes are almost identical (100cc diff) Very easy to put together (if you have a little metal fabrication experiance - I work in a metfab shop so its no problem) I made a new exhaust/intake flange out of 1/2" by 3" flatbar, milled out the exhust ports and srilled the intake holes and bolt holes ( i wanted to do the whole thing cold just cuz i didnt wanto distort the metal by putting heat to it .. ie from a plazma or a torch) Thats as far as I have gotten so far, its just a matter of fabbing up the rest and its just a bolt on upgrade to the carb/exhaust setup that is on there now. Just need to put in an electric fuel pump and a Fuel pressure regulator... and its all good. and of course plumb in an intercooler and BOV I will update as I carry on with this i just want to have enough boost to notice a difference in how it pulls

Ok guys ive thought about it and decided to take the A15 out of the wagon and either build up the A12 or go the turbo route.
I really want that engine, im not going to fork out $500+ for a A14/15 from tassie that is on its last legs. The prices are rediculous and i am emmotionaly attached to this engine and financially attached as ive spent over $1400 on this donk. This A15 will be going in the next project in the next few months which you will all see in the near future I could however use the L20B out of a 200B thats being wrecked that my mate knows, but then g/b, tailshaft, tunnel mods, clutch (hydraulic) etc. comes into play. So we'll see coz all this wont be happening for a few months now. Thanks for all the input, who knows i may change my mind again! Dave
