hi 1200 fans i have got a 1200 coupe tacho which i would like it to work in my 1200 ute i have wired it up to a diagram which was posted on this site some time ago with the loop wires black and white one going to the positive on the coil and the other end of the loop going into the ignigion barrel i have also hooked up the other two wires to the speedo which are a black and a yellow with red and nothing is working if anyone has this tacho hooked up in there 1200 ute please tell me if i have this right nobody seems to have the answer i have also tried a friends tacho that he had lying around which he had found at a wrecking yard and it had the same outcome

You need to run both of the loop wires to the coil location. Remove the wires that were originally on the coil positive and connect them to one of your tacho loop wires. Connect the remaining tacho loop wire to the coil positive.
Start the car and the tacho should work. If it doesnt, swap the loop wires around.

what your saying doesn,t make sence , i tried just hooking both the loop wires to the positive and negative on the coil and still nothing and i also swapped them around is this right

I never said negative - dont know why you would even try doing what you did.
Cant write it any plainer than I have done.
