Hi
As I am in the process of deciding on an engine upgrade I would like to know what sort of performance you can get from an A14/A15? If it was putting out 120+hp what sort of 1/4 mile times are possible, or have been recorded?
Thanks

Give the search button a try... should have more than enough info already posted.

That depends on diff ratio, gearbox, tyres, wheel size, suspension set up, how you achieved those 120 hp etc. If you're happy with 16 plus secs go for it.

can someone make a java app that has the Y axis = time and the X axis = HP and the constant is the average weight of a 1200/210/310?
then you can just figure out what 1/4 time you want and you'll know how many HP you need. then maybe another line that shows how much it costs to have the a series make that much HP.

it's like a dyno chart.

or try this...

If u give me the specs needed for the chart to work i can build the app!!! would b a kewl thing to have and wouldn be that big a program so can email it to u easily. Something worth tinkin bout.

And as 4 the 1/4 times check the threads, there was a huge post on here late last year bout the Dunrite Datsun from SA doin a consistent 13.85sec running using an A14 motor!

I was kind of meaning it as a joke, but at the very least a chart showing how how many hp an ideal 1200 would need to achieve a given 1/4 time.

Something like this, maybe with the user able to set his weight.

the threads a little old now but figured i'd add to it incase of future reference :

1973 sedan, built nearly as a daily driver (full interior, big stereo)
running gear :
A12, all balanced, good head work, electronic ignition, twin 40mm webers, 2" exhaust, standard H145 3.9:1 diff, 195/50/15 tyres.

time down quater mile :
17.623sec @ 78.07mph

this is the best time i did on the day.

there was an A15 in a 1000coupe, full racecar that was doing 15.01sec @ 90mph or so.
