well i wired the main amp wire through a huge sereo line, i think its like 4gauge or somthing. i also istalled gold plated brass battery terminal connectors. the amp is only powering the subwoofer though. i also dont think my headlights dim, only my dash lights a little when hard bass hits turned up loud

you have a 50 amp alternator and your amp can draw 62.5 amps. the battery might have 400 amps on a good day. Even with the engine running your battery could go dead in 48 hours of loud listening.

if you keep the volume below 1/2 the headlights probably won't dim so much. It also might be where the amp is drawing all that power from.

no, it isnt visible in daylight. so i geuss it isnt a problem. i do have a 750 watt kenwood amp for my stereo in my b210. thats probly why it draws soo much.

As stated in the service manual posted in bluebird forum the alternator is off Series 3 Bluebird

D+ Exciter diode junction-connection for indicator lamp
B+ Battery connection (direct to battery)
+ Lead and connector - 7 volt pickup for choke and service brake relay
D- Ground

I'll try wiring it this saturday

Is it visible in daylight? I'd say that's a problem. But if you can only see it at night, it may not be a problem.

What I would do is put it under full load, then use a volt-meter on the battery to make sure it's 13.5-14.9 volts at about 1200rpm. If it's under that you may need a higher-output alternator

Looks like nobody knows the answer here. Datsun 1200s, B210s and B310s used a different connector, or at least all I've seen have the T-shaped connector instead of D-/D+. I suggest checking a wiring diagram for the car the alternator came from. Often the library has manuals that have wiring diagrams in them.

When you find out, let us know and I'll add it to the Wiring article as another alternative.

i have noticed that when i have a few electrical somponents such as headlights, stereo and wipers that my charge light slightly glows or slowly flashes as power is drawn. is this normal?

I know which wire is which but not sure about the alternator side of it

D- is earth
B+ is 12V to battery
D+ is Field
- is Neutral to charge dash light?

once i know the markings of the alternator I can figure out how to connect it.
