The new airbox is now on.

We were supposed to get on the dyno today, but when I got there the tuner didn't have his cable to connect the laptop to the Motec :x Rescheduled for Wednesday night at Insight motorsports

the good news is - the car is alive...it starts and runs and although we have changed a host of things, the tune is good enough to get the car on and off the trailer.

Mark.

Is the way this works, similar to inlet manifold plenum theory?

Hmmmm, the old water swirling in a bottle theory again 99.
Should be good with a 34 mm restrictor.

Nothing gets past you guys!

I am hoping (expecting) the air to swirl inside the barrell - we know the air spins when it goes through the restrictor, so my theory is that with a round airbox, the efect might start a little earlier, and hopefully help flow through the restrictor.

Phunk.....it's very similar to a plenum. Essentially we have one trumpet (restrictor) attached to the front of the turbo. With this set-up the shaping of the trumpet can work to it's best effect, and still have cool filtered air.
