They are apparently hard to track down, with some people even getting them from Nissan Japan.

This website: www.gimmecarparts.com.au
seems to be able to get them. Please let me know if you do use this site as I may need to get some myself.

I tried that gimmecarparts site but all they had for a Datsun 1000 is ignition leads. Looks like parts for the 1000 are harder to get than I thought

It showed ball joints when I last looked. I entered my vehicle details and they came up.

I am also suprised at the lack of 1000 parts. I am starting to think a 1200 would have been a much easier project. But even 1200's are thin on the ground in North Qld.

Please do post if you find where to get ball joints from.

Also try the search box. I read somewhere in the posts about a mob in WA that rebuild old ball joints and tie rods.

Good luck,
Ray

I brought some a few months ago. I cant recall the phone number, but if you ring "Sprint Auto Parts" at Salisbury in South Australia they can get them.

Good luck

If you dont have any luck, You can have the joints "Plasti-surged" I had it done to my drag link, Good as new! Was only about $90 to do both ends!!!

They take the grease nipples out, or drill little holes in them and inject a special molten plastic in them, works a treat!!

HI there the part number you need to ask for is BJ89 for upper and BJ91 for lower, they should still be readily available just probably not listed in the newer parts books! I find having a couple of the older repco parts books really useful for reference purposes as these list the part numbers for a lot of older cars not covered by the parts books these days! Last time a quoted on the through HIlls Automan (Autopro) they were about $30 each
