hey guys and girls just picked up a datto 1200 turbo ute with an A14 in it, but has a noisy 4 speed so i'm after a 5 speed that is in good condition some where close to the gold coast.

i just got a 1200 with an A14 engine in it with a turbo set up, dont know any thing about datto's so dont know if all gear box's are the same? I am after a 5 speed gear box

just seen a 5 speed on trademe.co.nz very cheep maybe the only place to get one.

isn't that in New Zealand though? i know of one on the coast at a wrecker but they want $1000 for it!

yeah the 5 speed boxes go for a bit of money due to their rarity, ask B120dat he used to have one for sale but that was a little while ago I'm sure he'd do you a good price if he still had it.

Dellow Automotive do a kit for a Celica 5-speed to A-Series. That might be another option instead of trying to find a decent A-Series overdrive box...

yep, go the dellow kit.
i put one in my ute, and it was so easy to do it aint funny.
costs the best part of 1500-1800 bucks to do the job tho.
it took me and the old man 5-6hrs to install mine(not including waiting for the tailshaft to be made).
not for everyone, but i reckon its awesome.
i couldnt find a a series 5 speed for less than 1200bucks , thats why i went the dellow kit.

far out i may aswell get rid of the god dam car if it's goin to be that much i cant offord that, just paid and spent 8 grand on it
