CA's are great however try getting the range and lower price of perfromance parts like the SR has...let your wallet decide, plus you can take an Sr out to 2.4 litres with a stroker kit.

rev an SR to long and its head will let go. CA's can sit on the limiter all day and love it. My CA is internally standard and my limiter is at 8000rpm and see's it often.
Plus the blocks are weaker on the
SR, if you want to build one thats not gonna let go and put a piston/rod through the block then your gonna need to sleeve it.
Also, what can you buy for an SR thats not available for a CA?? and prices are generally similar.

I can go on forever. Its all personal preference anyway

I know you're only joking but bear in mind that an Engineer Report specifically states:

"Any alterations to this report or to the vehicle may render this report invalid"

If you spend your $600+ on an engineers report for an SR20 conversion, and then modify your car by fitting a turbo to it after the report, you might as well have not bothered getting the engineers report in the first place, and saved the $600+.

You'll be taking the turbo off everytime you need a pink slip, or the cops will defect your car the first time they see the turbo there. Additionally your insurance will be void.

Why go through that hassle.

The N/A SR20 conversion in a car that weighs sub 900kg will provide you with more than ample power.

LOL the enginner that I had chosen told me it would be fine ( had drums up front before) comes time to engineer it and he knocks it back pitty he told me to do that as he will now have to pay for that and my new R31 brakes (although he dosnt know it yet im building the case at the moment) wont say any more

MYDRUG is a '84 1200 ute that is fully engineered, registered and comprehensively insured in NSW with an S13 SR20DET. It can be done.

I have heard of that car from a freind of mine
and if done correctly im sure it can be engineered
I had no problems with insurance and it only increased my premium by a whooping $4 a year
serious only 4 bucks gotta love shannons

i am in much need of mounts to do the same sr20 de conversion, can you help at all .i would be happy to fund your help as i am dying to get it in the ute and give it an all mighty big shot of gas and have some fun.
