oil in an a15

hey i bought a datsun ute with an a15 in it last week.. today i went to change the oil and when i put the fresh oil in, it read full after only having 1 litre in it.. is there a problem here? can anyone tell me how much oil it should take?

Did you drain the old oil first?

Nah, dunno mate, it should take more than a litre. Maybe pull the sump off and have a look

It might have the wrong dip stick in it, or the rubber grommet/stopper has slid up on it.
