My A-15 was put in by the previous owner & cost him $1700. + extractors ($400?), + about $140 for a 32/36 adaptor & full rebuild kit.

polished head
lightened flywheel
Extractors
32/36 DGAV Weber carby
mystery cam- I was told by the engine builder that it was either a 30/70 or a 35/75 but the guy had lost the cam card so I don't know.

It is a good fun combo, remarkably torquey from 2000-5000, but at the end of the day I dont reckon it would be making more than about 100 hp at the flywheel.

I am thinking of running a bit of boost through it, 'Wally's wagon' style.

hi scotty01
i think the cost is really up to you.if you want a cheap and quick way to turbo it buy a cheap late model turbo t25 or t28 eg and blow through a 32/36 weber and use a malpassi reg and boost retard on the dissy timing. thats basically what im looking at trying except im probably going to put new duralites with lower comp ratio and a decent portjob/cam etc and maybe try holley 350 carb.this setup worked well on 2 litre escort and was quick and reliable and drove fine for months.

100-150hp (at the wheels) out of a turbo'ed A15 is not unusual.

Talked to a fellow at the Datsun club meeting tonight. He's bumping boost up and hoping for 150hp@10psi wheels soon. He apparently managed 120hp@6psi.

Food for thought.

You might be able to get 150or60 flywheel HP for about $4500.
