We had a race at Phillip Island on the 23rd. Well i blew up the A14. I had a big valiant chasing me down but his staright line speed was a bit much for the ol datto. So i held it a bit long in 3rd. Well 8700rpm & missed a gear was the end of my day. The crank pulley ended up on the race track at turn 1,4 bent exhaust valves & i havnt checked out the bottom end yet. she will race again.

Particularly if you are allowed to borrow an engine that I believe a friend of yours has just laying around.[wink, nod]

Shame about the motor!

But that's getting to be a pretty respectable PI lap time! (2min flat being the RESPECT time).

In a R32 GTSt I did a 2:03! - you just a few seconds behind that with half the hp...

as long as you sorted out those Alphas from last year...........rather than fixing the head you have, maybe a certain A13 race head could be installed.........

Freshened my old A15 a few years ago for my young cousin. It was almost a monthly occurance that it would need a new push rod or 2. Did surprisingly little internal damage.

The only time he threw a front pulley was when he dropped the clutch at full revs in third while stationary. Sheared the flywheel bolts at the same time. . . New front seal, a machine of the flywheel and 6 new bolts later the engine is still creating fun, although he will never get it back!

I would look at a bigger altenator pulley too.

Sorry to ramble. . . Long story short, don't write it off yet.
