MMM interesting
You are wright in saying that the hottest place in an engine is the back oif the head.
So maybe thats why datsun put a water out let at the back of the Aseries heads to solve this problem.
My Aseries runs 10.6:1 comp standard radiator with a 10inch thermo & dosnt get over half on 40 degree day in traffic. With standard flow of coolent

Thats a very lame reason not to do something. Chevy has done this for a number of years.

Hi Mom
You are right it would seem about the Chevys, so I wonder why, after several years, that no-one else seems to have done it too.
Surely someone else, some other car maker, has thought of this at sometime in the last hundred years of automotive manufacture, yet chosen not to go with this concept. After all, it's not rocket science & it seems to have some merit at first glance, yet no-one else has done it.
Beats me.

Yes you are right. Why change now. Could this explain why it is you remain lame. Its 2006 not 1906
