You do realise that when you cut it off, you have to weld the roof skin to the car the full length.

I cut it off on my 1000 wags and also cut it off on my old 1200 wags. The 1200 I didnt like the look of it once done, so I welded bar stock on to give it a smooth lip gutter look. I personally dont think the 1200s doors tuck in enough for the no gutter look, but thats just me.

yeah i did hear sometihng along those lines, thats the reason for posting this thread. so you think it wold b to much hassle doing it? i can understand what you mean about the doors not tucking in enough tho. have you got any pics of your 1200 wagon?

I will have to look for pics mate.
Cutting off 2 inches and then welding 2 inches as you go isnt too hard. The pain in the arse bit is getting it to look good and be straight. I am sure Flyby will agree that this part is the pain in the arse.
