The kit that Kev does is actually Caltrac. It essentially does the same job, but has a couple of added benefits and isn't technically tramp bars. I don't need to blue plate the tramp bars as i haven't technically modified the car, they just bolt around the springs and can be removed in 5 minutes.

i only asked about the blue tag, because my friend has been nailed by the coppers for having tramp bars apparently they are illegal??. Caltrek isn't, this is apparently that's all, 1200U does your ute drive straight out of the hole with the tramp bars?

This might be a dumb question, but I have read the whole thread and I cant find the answer but.
What is Tramp, and how do these bars help it? thanks in advance. Cheers Mitchell

Well the way i see it is; the power going through the diff to the wheels will twist the diff housing in the car, also twisting the leafs then the leafs recoil causing the tramp or hop.

Sorry guys..... I should've been clearer
.I'm actually looking to make myself a caltrek setup, not tramp bars.... I've equated the forces acting on the rear springs etc, etc. It'd make my life a whole lot easier if I could get hold of the spec's from an off-the-shelf kit instead of starting from scratch. What caltrek offers that standard tramp rods can't is the ability to adjust the pinion angle of your diff. Refer the photo's of Wogboy's setup - Notice the tie rod running from the front spring mount to underneath the axle - This allows fine adjustment of your pinion angle.... When you get it right, it results in optimum torque being transferred to the road. We're talking about no tramp minimum wheelspin, maximum forward propulsion...... Yeehaa .No good for burnouts though .Anyone know where I can get hold of the spec's for one of these caltrek kits???
