Hi All. I bought car with what I thought was general ware and tear problems. Braking is fine until you get to about 5mph then there is Metal on metal sound & the brake pedal pulses. The metal noise sounds like it is coming from the front near the brake pedal, but nothing is felt in the steering so the problem I thought must be at the rear. Anyways I replaced front brakes & disc and rear pads & drums. Now the car slows fine then at about 5mph the same noise, but now is stops making a noise in the last seconds before the car stops, so there has been a slight improvement. Wheels spin straight and true. Any one any ideas what may need replacing or fixing or adjusting??? MOST GREATFULL.

My opinion would be that the wheel bearing might nedd doing, sometime you get a similar sound to the metal brake squeel if all the grease has leaked out od been used in the wheel bearing.

if the brake peadl is pulsing it hase to either be a collapsed wheel bearing or warped disks as there is nothinf else which will make your brake pedal move like that, well that I am aware of anyway

Could a bent wheel cause the brake pedal to pulse?

Most likely it is a warped rotor.

The brake sounds are usually of two kinds:
- A low pitched scraping sound (usally, pads are worn out)
- A high-pitched squeal, this is fairly common, usually doesn't indicate a real problem (except for the loud noise). To fix, carefully clean the sliding surfaces, lightly (very lightly) grease them, and... make sure you have the factory Nissan pad shims behind each pad
