Hella inserts with relays & a carefully adjusted regulator [where applicable] that delivers maximum voltage but is still within specs. Doesn't get much better than that & I have been using them for 26 years.

yeah i am running these lights, bolt in with no mods. Am running the same as the standard globes (55/70 i think). Hell of an improvement over the stock lights, but still lacks height on the passengers side.

I'd recomend looking at hyundia H4 inserts. Your local wrecker should sell for about $10 a light. Also straight bolt in replacements i believe

hyundai inserts..baargain idea. I'll go buy up a spare set at the wreckers.

I paid $130 for my Hella H4s. Then some more for the higher powered 90/100 inserts.

If aimed properly, the higher powered inserts aren't much of a defect risk.

I run 100/90's in the old 200B & never have a problem. With 100's in the inner, high beam lights it gives me 400watts of foward illumination & the the poor overworked altenator is starting to earn its keep.[Nominal 32 amp load.]

i have crystal headlights, the one thing to think about is that these things usually have glass fronts, so if one gets a stone chip it's more expensive to replace.

Or you can get stone guards if you don't mind the mad max look.
