while your detailing and painting, i'd suggest doing all the bolt ons and external engine parts (carbs, extractors etc) and then do the internals later. That way you wont have to polish any twin weber manifolds after you already polished the single weber manifold

I imagine a nice stainless set of extractors would go really nice in that engine bay when its done

whawt are the 32/36 webers like???anyone have one or had one i see i could get a reasonalbe set up witha weber32/36 carb linkages and adaptors for about 350 something like that ,

may look at this option ,aparently they give a reasonable increase in performance over standard carb?? would like to hear if any one has used these before???

really would like to go side drafts tho....
just the pricing to do the set up is a little out of budget


if i did go side draft what exactly do i need to complete the set up???

manifold
2 side drafts
probably rebuild kits for each if there old
linkages
fuel lines
any adaptors????
what about tuning are they a bitch?????

like the sound they make tho very throaty ..

more input please guys!!!!!

Oh ..the undercarraige and diff is so nice.

This definitely needs an exotic motor!
..sooner or later...

So is it an A12? It's one of the post 1973 engines.
I'd recommend going for a worked a14 instead.. Even a stocker A14 is heaps more exciting when compared against a stock A12. No certificate required.

I'd be considering a 13B renesis RX8 engine
Especially with all that modern looking paint everywhere.

very true, but the a12 is a legendary motor. Its what gives the 1200 a good reputation. In a way i'm glad to see a really good build using the a series...

well guys if i had unlimited money id be going rotary as ive always wanted a rotary ute,but since i dont have unlimited money i have to go with what ive got and that is the a12,

im looking at completely rebuilding the engine top to bottom with as many new parts as possible ,pistons,rings bearings ,timing chain ,bla bla bla also a mild cam and a single weber side draft ,extractors, and lots of shiney bits and shiney paint ,

wel thats the latest stage any way,things may change later on but for now thats my general plan ,

if the new owner wants a fast ute then they are welcom to do what ever they want,

i still dont see why you would do this to sell it. surely its not worth the time if your going to sell. keep it bro go with the rotor. why not? wish i had the money id buy it. but nice work.

ok heres my 2 cents, i originally started with a stock as a rock a12, got exhaust and extractors, soon after. i got sick of the engine very soon, i looked for an engine that woudl suit, easy 2 fit, reliabvilty, and price, and settled on the a15, with cam, 30/70. 32/36 weber, and a few othe rlil bits, from memory, paid 400hundred bucks 4 it. very easy swap over, and it ate the old a12 for breakfast. a much recommended upgrade if ya wanna keep the cost down, its an easy fit, and its relaible, you can go from there with all the lil bits and peices, but i recommend upgrading from the a12 to a15, just for taht lil bit more power. i had the 32/36 on there, it went pretty well, but nothing comapred 2 the twin 45's now. its all up to you in the long run, but for the price, id say go a tricked out a15, have a look for something already with a few trimmings on ot, to keep the cost down
