the colour has alot of pearls in which looks different from different angles and differnt lights,
can look pink can look red can look purple
and even a little blue, this colour is a full custom mix so thats why it may look differnt in differnt photos

so theres a few parts all done ,now heres some thing ,just to prove im not full of #### about putting a ps2 custom painted in the dato ute,ive just painted the case of it up tonight and heres the steps to painting plastic like this ,

first to paint plastic properly you need it really clean so presol is used to clean it up ,next you spray on a plastic primer which drys very quickly giving a base for the colour to stick to next i put down a silver base ,as my colour requires a silver base, 2 coats of base,
next 4 coats of pearl paint mix
then seal it off with 2 coats of 2pak clear, here are the photos going thru the process........................

Evilbetty

You certainly look to know your stuff and I hate to burst your bubble a little, but I have ute painted in a very similar colour (HOK candy violet). I know it isn't exactly the same as what you have been doing with flips, etc, but it is damn close. If you search for Micksute you will find it in the photos....although it is really hard to photograph the damn paint.
I love what you have been doing and I will defintiely be using a couple of you ideas and techniques. Thanks for posting all of the photos, inspiration is getting harder to find.

Michael
