cheers guys!!!! glad your enjoying the thread ,,yes polished stuff looks great,
its a lot of hard work but in the end it looks good, basicly cost you next to nothing, unlike chroming which can cost the earth,
and its fun too!! specialy when you get up to the 1200 1500# stage of the process, you really see stuff happening then!!!,

OK, I've just started and finished reading this thread to here. HOLY CRAP! Dude, you're awsome! Now don't get a big head. We're all still waiting to see what the next bit is going to be. It's kinda like reading a book and the last page is missing. KEEP GOING! We've got time!

Seriously though, I am going to fix up my coupe, starting in a couple of weeks when the weather starts to cool down. Are there any good spray can types of etching primer and paint or some type of coating that I can use on parts like the suspension that just need to be cleaned up but not made to look like the MonaLisa that us "normal" guys can use?

This thread should be put in a text book for restoring our cars!
XLNT WORK! KEEP IT UP!

well while im trying to find the 120y struts i thought id go back over my lists and see what ive sone so far,and this is basicly what ive come up with, now this isnt exactly every thing ive done but more the main parts so here we go gona rammble off whats been done:::::::

baremetaled ,repaired, etched, primed, blocked back and reprimed these::
drivers door
passenger door
tale gate

polished :
l/r inner door handles
l/r inner door cups
l/r tail light surrounds
l/r window winders
l/r front guard molds
l/r wiper arms
l/r indicator molds

cleaned and tinted the door glass

polished door catch spacers
"" "" door latches
door catches
clutch cable housing
l/r bonnet hinges

retrimmed dash pad

polished,painted,reconditioned alternator

painted tappet cover

cleaned and reassebled headlights

polished fuel line

painted these::
x member
spare tyre frame
spare tyre frame bolts
alternator bracket 1
alternator bracket 2
sway bar
sway bar mounts
4 tie rods
idler arm
engine sump
oil catch tray

reassembled idler arm with bushes

polished timing cover
polished water pump

Now when you look at it loke that it really dosent look like much works been done, but i have been bust balls to get to this stage ,alot of hours has been put in allready ,as im sure that you all can tell,

so the next few things coming up is i want to get all the front end steering and suspention painted and start fitting new bushes etc but i really cant do that till i find some more 120y struts !!!! also im still waiting on the parts for the grill,im being stuft around by the supplier,so i cant finish that till it all arives,
so things are at a bit of a slow down till i can get hold of all these bits and pieces,

so there you go a few more parts done,
hopefully start assembling some of it
shortly,

well now im going to back a bit, remember how i was going to do a custom grill??????
well i know a few people didnt like the idea,
but ive gone ahead and started it anyway!
so im going to go thru where that is at so far.........................

ok well where i left off i had got the old grill chopped out the centre part, repaired it and primed ,
so now the main part is ready for painting, but first i had to paint the insides black as this is how it is going to be, so heres the shot of the inside been painted.........
