what i wish i had done when i got my rims and think would look sweet is have 15x45s on the front and go like 16 or 17x45 on the back. because 4 some gay reason 15s on the front look fine but 15s then look tiny on the back

i don't suppose you made templates of the metal parts?? i was thinking of doing the same thing, but my welding skills leave a lot to be desired lol. Did you use car filler or fibre glass filler? also did you strip it to bare metal???
thanks ty

ok now heres something different, ive been thinking about what im doing in the ute tray, first i was just going to stone guard it and leave it as is,then i was going to put some checker plate on the floor to look a bit better ,but after a long think and a few measurements and brain storming ive decieded to do a little more than that,in fact ive decided to do all of that plus a few other little mods that should look rather good im hoping,,

so heres a basic plan of what im going to do ,keeping in mind that i may change certain parts along the way ,i guess it is a case of see how it goes and if i hve enuf cash to do the proposed ideas.

so basicly im going to swand the entire tray area, then mask of the top part of the lip and also the top part of the back of the cabin,as seems to be the norm on utes,
then im going to stone guard the entire thing walls floor back panel,
next i will paint 2 pak paint over the stone guard so as to give me somethi ng to mask to in the future, stone guard isnt the best for masking onto you see, also this should seal the entire tray rather well ,next im going to................

well im not going to give away to many details just yet but check my ruff artists impression of the inside the tray!!!!!!!!!!!!
this was done on paint and is very ruff but basicly i just wanted to see what my ideas would look like ,so here it is judge for your self ,if you dont like it to bad as i have all ready invested 500 dollars into the transformation, that will probably be doulbled by the end of the job no doubt!!!!.....

could be verry cool, if yo need any help with the stereo stuff or you got any questions just pm me and i'll give ya a hand.
i think it'll look awesome. As for practicality, why would you spend so much time and money on a custom ute if you were gunna put half a tonne of gravel in it anyway. I say go all out and modify it to the max (CLICHE)

well basicly its something differnt ,this ute is pretty much going to be biil for shows and week end driving ,so i doubt it very much if someone is going to put a load of gravel in the back if they wanted to they would be better off buying a piece of #### instead of this,

thanks mate it took me a while to come up with a decent looking well fitting design so im pretty happy with this one,no worrys about the stereo gear, thanks for the offer,
ive done many stereo installs before so this shouldnt casue much drama, going to be using 2 10" mtx 500watt subs and some random 4 channel amp,so should go well also i have a set of components to go on the inside so should be pretty sick along with the ps2 and the 7 inch lcd etc!!!!
as for the gravel i wont be driving it it will be getting sold as soon as its all done,if the new owner is dumb enuf to put a ton of gravel into a show ute then good on him thats his problem hahahahha,

i would have to say that im not a fan either of the tray.... i still think the best method of building a nice ride is to keep it simple something like that would distract you from rest of hard work done to the car, then again some years back when i first got my license i would have gone ooooh ahhh. i think just a hard cover will suite perfectly and some highly polished thin wood to cover the floor.

well there is going to be a hard cover going on,thats why i decieded to do something a bit different ,if there was no cover then i certainly wouldnt be going all out and doing something like this ,every ones entitled to there opinion i guess, but i like the idea
ya pop the hard cover and instead of an empty tray ya get boom , a face full of custom, after all this is a custom ute im building, not some grandma shopping box
