hi there ,yeah its coing along slowly but surely,as for the sale price i cant really say at this stage i really have to wait till its finished ,
i may be putting it on auction to start with or possibley seting a figure and staying with that for a while not fully sure ,but i know for a fact that it will me me a hell of alot of money, not just in all the new stuff im putting into it but also the time,if i was paided an hourly rate for what ive done so far,id be bloody rich!!!!!!!!! hahaha but i know how it goes with cars and you never really gett your money back ,

hopefully the new owner will be able to see the amount of time, money effort sweat and ball breaking that have done and be willing to pay a reasonable price,

are you looking at buying are you????email me if you want to talk about cheers

hey evilbetty,
i am still prepareing my datto and was wondering the general idea with spraying the tray of a ute. do you sand it all back paint and get it perfect or just paint with another type of paint because there will be tools in the back. keep the good work up!!

well personaly if your going to have tools and the like in the back it will probably get scratched up and dented so if i were you i wouldnt go all out sanding it perfect ,i would say sand the inside of the tray with like 320# and then spray your colour or if you want a bit more hard wearing spray some stone guard ,will give you a nice thick hard wearing surface in there, just all depends on what the main use is for and how fussy you are !! good luck with it

ok well i think ive come up with the solution for the cover relase set ,ive come up with the idea of using barrel locks as the pulling mechanisum, now these are going to be fitted some where underneath the quaters, and are worked with keys ,so you cant see them but can get to them if you realy have to get the tarp open.......

so off to bunnings and came back with viarous bits and pieces to try and create the idea heres a very ruff sketch of the idea......

ok so there we have a cable running thru a tube, the cable is connected to the latch at one end and the other a barrel lock,
the idea being is you put the key in,turn it and it pulls down on the cable and realeases the cover latch..........

now im going to atempt to turn that into a working set up!!!!!!!

so hopefull if all goes well it should be done by the end of the week ,fingers crossed it all works out!!!!!!! will get pics and explain as i go along, but the idea is simple and should work well

remeber that this is only going to be a emergncy set up as im using a full central locking type set up for the 90% of the time to be used............
