hey there,
just wanting to know what nissan rear disc brake options are fairly easy to fit to a coupe rear end?
so far i know of r31/s13/u12 as they all incorporate the h/brake in the calipers.
my preference is for a nissan setup, as i just wanna keep it in the family.
thanks.

I don't know that there are any simple disc brake options for the coupe rear end, but one option for the rear of a coupe could be

1. Use an H165 type ute rear end under the coupe.
2. While rebuilding the rear end, fit the disc brakes from the Aussie built 1981 to '86 Bluebird TRX & LX models.

These will fit easily enough to the larger rear axle housing & have inbuilt handbrakes, but I'm told that the clearance between the caliper & the body starts to get squeezy when the care is lowered. To fix this, you can leave the ride height as standard or at least limit the lowering, adjust the shape of the wheel arch at the interference point, fit a stiffer sway bar to reduce body roll & subsequent contact.

A little of all three is probably the best overall strategy if you chose this route.

Sorry, but that's my best shot.

cheers dude.
fitting rear discs is a bit of a luxury really, and by the sounds of a bit of a compromise to considering the caliper vs. inner guard issue.
h165 rear ends are getting extremely hard to find in nz these days, as are bluebird trx/series 3 -era rear discs etc.
my coupe build is supposed to be to a budget, so im deeming the rear disc brakes as no longer an option.
need to limit my budget, so i can get my 1600 done too!!

You could always upgrade to larger drums off a 180b or a stanza, even a 1600 i think are the same size. Then a Z-Car alloy drum will fit over after trimming some of the backing plate away!
