with regards to the 200b steering arms

they go onto stanza balljoints, give a bit more camber(hole is off centre) abd they are the same length as the stanza arms
only problem is that you need tierod ends with a bigger taper

im just using standard 200b springs (cut in half) in the front of my car, havnt driven it yet so i dont know what it will be like
but i can always get z car ones as i think they are harder than 200b ones

no 200b ones wont, they are too long and the thread is on the tierod end(opposite to the 1200 ones)

Probably could make up some sleeves to adjust the taper, getting pretty tricky though.

Bugger it, if the time comes (hopefully it wont) and i need that much camber, i'll just rose joint the whole front end!

Hows your machine coming along dude?

Hey whitesedan,
I find the L20 is not the rev machine the A series was!! I feel it is just making noise after 6500rpm and the dyno sheet confirms this However, a wise member suggested I 'use the torque luke, the torque' ) and way hey she gets going when you shift at 6000 and replant the right foot Keen to upgrade my venturies from 34 to 36mm to get her breathing better - then maybe a few more top end revs to be had !!
Hope you can get up this way for an event - good to catch up with members - especially those astute enough to install the mighty L series
Cheers

good point. there are alot of variables in suspension setup that will influence what spring rates suit your car. things like the front roll couple, front to rear roll axis, weight distribution etc. even the type of tyre you run - ie a semi slick will 'take' a higher rate than a normal road tyre.

and there's always driver preference too.

suspension setup is a black art, but a wise man told me years ago that when you're starting out (and even long after) you can do alot worse than copy what some of the class leaders are doing with their cars - if you can manage to get a peak under them that is... I kept doing that until I started to beat them, then I had to start learning for myself. And don't be afraid to experiment. Trial and error is a valid method! I made alot of errors with my setup along the way - learning what doesn't work (and why) is just as important as learning what does work.

Cheers for the help guys, looks like i will be getting springs early next week now. Ive ordered some 275lb springs through maddat, hopefully they fit the bill.

I would like to get the car out soon get it sorted, other than the need to get it back on the road, im sick of driving my partners auto dato and she's sick of the one car thing.

By the end of the year i would like to have done a few supersprints and maybe a collingrove hillclimb, then its time for a cage over the chrissy break and start a season in a class that suits the car.
