Is it possible that it's a factory competition item?

I guess he could have said that and saved my dumb arse from trying to think of a factory model with triples.

but if its a factory competition part, its got awful small diametre runners - both ends. The How to modify and Hotrod bible talks about guys in the states (Bob Sharp?) running 50mm Solex carbs until class rules changed requiring smaller, and 35mm is std diametre of a small port L6 head.

call me a cynic... but a mate has one like that with cast towers for the linkage rod, and there doesn't appear to be any other distinguishing features.

You're a cynic, but I'm glad that someone is.

If it's the gen-u-ine, bona fide, ridgey didge factory competition item, then you're paying a premium for the herritage, & good fortune to the wealthy purchaser, but if it's an aftermarket item that just 'looks' like a factory one, then tell him he's dreaming.

Frankly, if it's genuine, then some bigger pictures with close ups of some relevant identifying mark, or perhaps a history, would make it stand a better chance of opening a wallet or two.
