I have a Jade Green XE lowered with Gold Simmons, and tan velour interior.... Have had it for ages, just got it back from the paint shop a couple months ago. It has Brand new Mild 351, extractors, 3" single system, rebuilt 4spd and rebuilt Disc brake LSD, all new suspension and brakes, new AC, and power steering, the car is like new...

I am a die hard Datsun/Nissan man (1000 A12 Turbo, 400kw atw GTR, Red SSS Stanza I brought 20 years ago, has 70,000k on it, plus others) but it is nice to cruise in an old Aussie Muscle car occasionally.....Open in new window

as the owner of a March '81 XD ute with a XA 250 2V six I tend to agree...

it went bloody hard (120 Km/h fishtails) but due to me being young and stupid I cooked it

A12's are nice but a 302 or (2V) 351 is much better!!...

due to being a farm hack a 300 Hp 4V 351 would be overkill!

it'll DEFINITELY have to have power steering as the XD ute had the standard steering box - heavy and too many turns lock to lock...

The XA to XC hardtop will put you into the league of "really cool car" owners, the XD to XE Falcons are rubbish.

No offence to XD owners this is just personal opinion based on personal experience.

I am thinking of going to the "Dark Side" - an XA-XC (possibly a hardtop) or XD-XE V8

don't worry though: the "Iron Maiden" and "The Defect" will be kept so that when the weeks fuel money is gone the datto will be brought out to play...

I still have a while to decide though...
