There a DET ecu on Ebay right now. Most importers have them lying around. Don't pay anymore than $120 for one.

Sounds very cool Lag! I have wanted to have a crack at this tuning and burning of CA EPROMs for a while - it's great to hear of someone in Vic who has done it....I look forward to talking about that further in the coming months....got to get the engine in the car first though.

sorry for sort of changing the subject but.
what do you need for the cadet conversion(off the motor) could i just get the motor and buy the loom and computer seperate. or could a just use an aftermarket computer without the stocko one? i dont need the gearbox or the breaks struts or nothin like that. so is there much point in buying a halfcut? sorry. first time tackling a project this large

You can use an aftermarket computer - a few people use the Microtech aftermarket computer. But the factory one will do the job.

You could use the brakes of a front cut too I assume - I've been told S13 brakes go nice of B210 struts.

Intercooler, radiator...AFM, airbox.

I think there are a fair few useful parts in the front cut.

If you are asking..then I'm assuming that you haven't done it before.

Get a front cut or at least full engine/loom/ECU/piping/radiator etc.

Front cut is definitely the way to go. IT'll save you money and stress.

Anyone that's done it before could save a couple of hundred dollars buying the stuff in bits from friends made along the way.. But a new punter will double the cost of the conversion if he were to start with bits and pieces.

the eprom burner is the cheap bit... its the wide band oxygen sensor that cost me the $$$. good to be able to play with your own tune and know what you are doing so you aren't being ripped off by a vague tune that costs you an arm and a leg!

get that motor in mm, its too easy with the parts you have. get cracking!
