Hey Sean... cars looking good. You'll have to let us know how it goes/handles with that setup.
Also be interested to hear how you get on with Rego, if they cause you any grief without an Engineers Cert or not.
Interesting thing with mine Engineers Report.... I spoke to the enggineer long before I did anything to the car and he said he'd pass it with the a15 in it, and RTA said the same thing but any change in engine size RTA definately wanted Engineers Report.
When I finally got the Report from the Engineer, he's listed the motor as a15, which it is, but mines running 1608cc so he obviously didn't give a stuff as to the capacity, just as long as the original engine was within guidelines. You could take the L16 out to 1800cc and would they care..?? No-one has asked for a final capacity measure on the engine.
Another interesting thing, he told me what the engine came from and the year of the donor vehicle just from the engine number....and he was right. He had a book some 6 inches thick which listed everything.

Well the datos been knocked back a few steps, i dont think it'll be going for rego any time soon Dan!!

Yesterday it was getting its exhaust done and when the bracket for the muffler was being welded to the floor, weld spat through the floor and ignited on a rag, caught the rear seat/rear door trims and headlining on fire.

New dash is ok, front seats were only scrapper originals so thats cool but hell theres a lot of cleaning to do.

Mate that sucks when it was coming along so well..
Lucky as you say the new Velo's weren't already in there though.
Building cars always takes time but when someone tries to have a bbq in your car and sets you back even further it's not much fun. Hope the rest of the build goes ok.

Yeah its not too bad, pinch welds and other little rubbers are all melted. I'll get some photos, im suprised it didnt hurt the dash which i only just got back from dash original. Maybe its time for a full cage and forget about rego completely?

You didnt happen to put a new interior (preferably non-flammable) in with my box of goodies did you?

Whitesedan....you're in luck. If pinch weld is that black s#@t that goes around the edges of doors don't buy any....there is 5 metres of it in the box. There is also 2 door seals from Rare Spares but I'm not sure if they fit or not. Man I gotta post that thing. I'll go out and put it in the car now.
