Just out of curiousity could you guys with worked A series post what work you have done to your motors and a (conservative) power output.This is the specs of my a15 being built-

A15 bored 40thou
Flat top pistons running 11.0 to 1 compression
Balance bottom end with lightened flywheel
Cam is around 40-70
Massive ported head with 40mm inlets and 33mm exhaust valves, double valve springs.
Twin 40 dellortos and extractors
stock dizzy for the time being
= about 120-130hp at the fly

should destroy the old 4 speed pretty quickly!

would of thought it would have more power than that..

yep sounds good HP for that config...
I had 106 at whhels with pretty mauch the same with 54/86 cam and probably not as big of head porting.
I reckon you will have some good fun HP and the 4 spd will be ok for the street if you dont do line locks or real big RPM hard shifts.

A15 40 thou over
#### Mazda pistons with about 9.5:1 comp(what are you using to get your 11:1 ?)
Balanced everything...... light steel flywheel
This cam with 1.65:1 roller rockers


Small port oval head....... not hogged out..... I wanted airspeed not volume 38mm inets 33mm exhausts
Twin 40 webers (soon to be efi with 50mm quads)
Mech advance electrinic dizzy

Car will get another 40 thou overbore and better pistons to bring comp up to around 11.5-12:1 soon
Will also get the efi system and we will be running some tastier fuel
I'm hopeful for closer to 150hp atw.

yer my engine builder is still messing around with a suitable piston, but a modified suzuki piston is looking the go at the moment, this compression is with a decked block and a shaved head.

John Taylors old A series was reputed to be a genuine 200HP at the fly, the fuel injection he was running will soon be on Neils engine.

At 62.5 Hp and why does it have wheel speed not rpm ?

As for the EFI system ........ yes the hardware will soon be on my engine
But the Motec will be offered up for sale as its fuel only and we have decided to go with a crank angle,coilpack deal so need spark control too
We'll also be going for larger injectors and a lighter fuel rail. For some reason the one we have is heavy.

If you have the engine out of the car a engine dyno would be way better for tuning.

My A14 has been bored 120thou, flat-tops, 12:1 compression, 54/86 cam, massive ports, 1600 valves, light-fly, twin 45's etc..

I've never had it on the dyno, but its said to have around 97hp at the rears.. Dont know what that equats to at the flywheel..
