I believe there are rumors abound about adding an excise to LPG to bring it in line with petrol and diesel.

I have been thinking about buying a late 90's 4x4 and taking advantage of the governments $3000 rebate on fitting an L.P.G. system to it so I can use it as a economical family car.
But then I started thinking about how the price of Diesel went up so sharply once companies began releasing economical turbo diesel vehicles and people bought them purely because of the fanatstic economy they got from a cheap fuel like diesel once used to be.
I am thinking now that the Government never really does anything to make life easier without taking something in return and I feel this whole LPG rebate is a bait to lure us into fitting the set up and then once the majority of vehicles are converted to L.P.G. the government raises the price from $0.60 to what ever they like.
I wouldn't be supprised put it that way!
What are others oppinions on this?
