datrat_dave Posted on: 2006/8/28 9:33
Gday fellas, im making the trek up from Tassie to sydney in october (mite be driving the ute up) and im just wondering wheres some good cheap places to stay at all?
Im doing work experience for a week & just need somewhere to crash for about 6 days! So maybe a youth hostel or the similar, or somebodies bed at their house

Whilst im up would be great to catch up with some of the members & see the rides cruising around sydney! Will most likley be early october...

Cheers
Dave

Do you know where you will be working yet? Sydney is a big place. There are thousands of places to stay and lots you wouldn't want to.

Yeah im doing about a weeks worth of work experience at a place called Foghorn records (also Damien Gerrard studios, affiliated).

Its in the suburb of Darlinghurst and on Crown st, i have no idea where either of these places are but hoping to get to know the place before i go.
I dont mind ruffing it, ive done it before and i can do it again!

Mite have to get onto some places soon, but im hoping to catch up (if i have time) with some of the Sydney based members if im up there, im yet to go in a CA powered 1200 - im deprived i know

Cheers
Dave

Basically its inner city. You could say its a 24hr part of sydney, there is always something going on. Plenty of accommodation around, some good and some shady.
I would be hesitant in parking your 1200 in this part of the world [it would be easy pickings]. As well as parking is a premium cost in the city.

Maybe find some accomodation with secure parking and bus / walk to darlinghurst

If your up for Hostels, maybe check out the YHA web site. Also if you find somewhere in the burbs, you can be in the city in next to no time.
cheers

Benny

Righto that makes things a bit easier, as long as its in the inner city it would make it a hell of alot easier to find some places to stay.
Maybe i mite even need to splash out and find a hotel as i definatley dont want the datto getting nicked car theifs are the lowest form of scum..

Arrg its gona suck driving up the Hume with a 4 speed 56 series, yay 110k's with the A series screaming off its tits.. great or not

I'll let ya's know the future plans when it gets to the date

Cheers

That would be awsome Ianey! If its going out of your way dont worry at all mate as its just as easy if I get a place to stay in the centre of town so thats no problem, where do you exactly live?

I've sent you a PM in regards to the deal...

Cheers
Dave

Oh and im also most likley going to be looking at buying another datto over there, hopefully a completed project with all the works & modern motor stuffed in.. But we'll see!
