Jeeze there is some great results here! my old A12 is sounding a bit rough now and has just started leaking badly from the rear main seal, good thing the A15 is almost ready to replace it, I worked out that if I was doing 5200rpm with the auto at 150kmph I should see about 245kmph at 8500rpm, not sure if i will ever try though!

I've done 120mph, with plenty left. Thats actual speed too, not what a dodgy at best datsun speedo read.
It's hard to belive that movie is based on a real person. I saw a picture in the paper of the actual bike he rode. (Not the replica made for the movie) It actually looked even dodgier than the one in the film. He converted the sidevalve indian motor to OHV using the cylinder head off a BSA.

i got my original A12 powered 120y auto to 160km, it took a lot of road but it got there.
i recon that with the work i've done to it now it should be good for +180 km with a tail wind.

Driven dads race car(a15) at winton raceway to

8500rpm in fourth gear with 4.8:1 diff ratio and 205/60/13 tyres with a rolling diameter of 570mm

which i think works out at190kph

I ve run my turbo A15 roady out to over 6000rpm in 5th gear with a 3.7:1 diff which i worked out to close to 220kph had to pull speedo out after that it got stuck on about 200kph as in round the dial past 0 again
