Ok i pulled the heater tap off the side of my heater and discovered that it is leaking pretty bad. Should i just replace the rubber seals inside the tap or is there a better aftermarket option that i could go for or a car at the wreckers i can pull one out of. The tap is going to be controlled by an electric motor instead of the cable so making up brackets to suit another tap is no issue. Any help greatly appreciated.

So why did you investigate the heater tap? was it dripping ?
I think my heater box has a leak as i can smell hot coolant in the cabin when the motor is warm.

Wow, if it's available, please share the part numbers! The dealers around here are so terrible, most won't even bother to look up stuff for me at all. When they hear what year my car is, they just say "not avaialble".

Lazy bastards....

I dont have the box anymore sorry mark, it came with everything, as a whole assm, I dont think there were numbers on small components. Will your nissan parts department not even look up the old fiche for you?

Ive spent hours in my local nissan hassling them, they love it though, much more exciting than their usual work.

Ideally, this would be the way to go. Just replace everything and be done with it.

I wish I could get the local parts guys excited. I would rather visit the local Dept of Motor Vehicles or the Post Office!
