it's really just any b120 with the A14/5speed and the decal kit.

there aren't that many to be had left. sometimes you see a sticker kit on ebay.

5-speed?

The way I remember it, the Honeybee was an entry-level B-210 with a cool name. It was a stripper model with rubber mats.

And the most fondly remembered of american B210s.

5-speed, yes. You are right- the HoneyBee was a base model. The thing is, it's recorded in the car's VIN if it was originally sold as a HoneyBee, so that's why its a little tricky to find the car I want.

I'm sure mine is a HoneyBee (has the stock honeycomb caps and the old man I got it from kept calling it a HoneyBee), it has a 4-speed but I've only ever seen one 5-speed HoneyBee (I sold the guy the 5 speed ) for it - his has the decals mine does not but they are both nearly identical... I think the "HoneyBee" was just a trim package here in the states (just like the PL510, we here in New MExico at Melloy Datsun had a dealer option for the SSS trim package - this was a Vinyl top, cloth seats, carpet and tach some even got the vent emblems - AGAIN this was a Dealer option just like AC and Dual Carbs here in the US) that and 5-speed B-210's are far and few between here in the states, if you read the sheet you linked to it states it has a 4 speed not a 5 speed (and just try finding a B-210 tack!) - I could be wrong but this is the information I've gotten from a few 40-50 years old Datsun junkies here in Albuquerque that actually bought these cars as new.

What in the VIN sets it apart???

yeah it should be a 4 speed, but since the honey bee was a deal add on someone could have paid more for a 5 speed or such.

This is what I was told by coworkers involved with the HoneyBee campaign in the 70's : The HoneyBee package was not a dealer add on; It was a port-applied trim package (cars getting off the boat in Los Angeles were given the decals, etc.) and the VIN's of each HoneyBee were recorded for reference.

Now, I'm sure there's not exaclty a huge black market of "Fake HoneyBees" out there, but I am interested in finding a HoneyBee instead of a regular B-210.

By the way- Glad to find this forum!

BT
