Thanks, I'll look into doing exactly that.
The wheeks came of an early Sillycar..I mean Celica.
Not sure of brand exactly but Speedy rings a bell.

I would think it would be about $4000 at least.

get some ads off ebay and trading post to show them. my mate did this when his car was written off. and got a better pay out.

Hi Everybody!
Its been a while for me and it's good to see the forum is still up and running as strong as ever.

Heres my problem;
The mrs was caught up in an "almost" T bone in my ute . The other driver has admited total liability ( didn't stop at a stop sign)
The damage isn't that bad, the lower rear quater is stoved in ( behind the rear wheel) and cracked/creased through the wheel arch.
It looks as though the insurance company is going to write off the ute and I need a reasonable valuation to get as much for it as possible.
the "red book" lists market value for a '72 1200 ute at $1300 -$2700 but if theres reasonable proof that the ute is worth more than that the insurance pay out will be higher.
Heres what the utes got:
Paint- average
Body - average- minor body rust very little , if at all any structural rust.
Interior- average to above average
wheels- 14" alloys
Tyres- 2 new , 2 need renewing
Engine- worked A14- Dellorto, extractors, cam etc..
Front end- Stanza discs/struts ( power assisted)
Diff - full reconed H165 - new tailshaft

Obviously new parts don't come into the equation when valuing but what do you guys think an accurate value would be? and please be fair.
Jason.
