He mentioned that a Fibre glass Torana door weighed 5-6kgs... Thats probably half of a 1000 steel door...

Even forget about the weight, how much would you pay for a straight 1000 door that will never rust???

I hope it's not already on this thread - but has anyone determined the weight difference between steel doors and fiberglass ones?

I am organising a WA deal with Alpha for some Torana parts later in the year
I was thinking of getting some of his Datto parts while I was at it

Get him to cost up the doors..... they would be window frameless for racecars yes ?

I might be interested in a pair

Spoke to them today, if we can get 4 people to buy 4 sets its all go.

The doors would be around the following prices-

- $330, to be able to take all the std windows and handles
- $250 with a flat inner panels for race cars

Whos keen to put there name down??

Also, does anyone have any nice straight doors (2dr sedan... I think coupes are the same but have different inner panel work at the top) to make the moulds off?? Even if they have rust and are full of bog, as long as they are straight...??

Not sure how a group buy would go? Fibreglassing is a labour intensive process, its not done by machines...

I would assume with 1 only set of moulds you can only make 1 set of panels at a time... so wether you make 1 or 100 panels I would assume they would be the same price... The front guards I think where about $200ea... I thought it was fair

Who's keen on 1000 2dr sedan fibreglass doors? Remember they most likely wont de legal for road use...
