Ok people Stripped a free L20b i got today they thing had a rebuild sticker on it so had good expectations and everything looks good the Crank looks mint!.. See what you think. Also does anyone have a Z22 block!!.

Does anyone know from the pics what it is out of? has a U97 stamp also its mand with a spigot bearing. Im no expert on the condition but bores are smooth and looks in good nick. Basically all I will be using is crank and few small things.

Have you thought about going the whole hog and building a 2.4 litre grunter?

does the block have Japan or Aust stamped on it? if it's japan don't worry about getting a Z22 block, only if you want to run the Z22 crank? apparently the blocks with Japan stamped are thicker in the bores, compared to aust

Hey matty. I have thought about it but its very hard, could use a Z24 block (very heavy and very tall) or use a KA24. But the best option would be to build a Stroker, but the $$$ goes out the window. The problem with that is that your not gurantted alot more HP just alot more torque, also would not rev very well and finding a good block to do it too.

Basic plan is to go a nuts head, Prob use a Fearl Errol head L4 or sumthing similar. 48mm inlet 37ex, 76 deg wade billet cam, lots of head work flowing 230hp mark, good springs alloy retainer etc. The a Z22 bottom end go 3mm over (2140cc) with L20 crank and z22 flat tops. Then some 45mm or 48mm webers and good set of headers.

Would be nice to be in the 150rwhp area mabye more depending on which dyno

It will be some good Oldskool grunt which I am looking forward to. Madtimo gave me a good idea which I would like to do one day is a 2.4 stoker SC or 2.4L(z24) Supercharged!! Thinking one day I may have to get myself a 1600 and give that idea a go or a 1200 sedan with L18 numbers stamped on
