I thought it was purely a vacume system that the factory have calibrated to read it's correct values on the gauge?

hi guys...i'm new from puerto rico. i just got two days ago a '77 b210 coupe. another datsun to the family. we have a '82 200sx Z22, a D21 '89 Z24, couple of pathfinder, xterra and an almost finish project: my '03 turbo sentra se-r with the QR25 engine.
