Next time I've got the Z22 sitting in the 120Y I'll take a few better pics.

There's heaps of room on the exhaust side (Z22 is xflow) and I only had to remove a couple of emissions things on the inlet side.

This is it in the bay:

As I'm eventually gonna run an L20B head on the Z22 with this:

Hopefully it should all fit quite well!

That'll be great with the turbo on it.

I'm about 1% considering putting an L26/L28 in a 120Y. A 220rwhp atmo 120Y... fark yeah. Being non-turbo there's no need for an intercooler so the radiator can go in front of the support panel giving plenty of room for the motor.

I've seen a few 6cyl conversions with recessed firewalls but they're all turbo, without the need for the extra frontal room for intercooler etc the motor should go close without firewall mods.

Here's my 120y daily, couldn't not drive a datsun while I was building my 1200 sedan. Love it, its perfect for throwing the dogs in the back!
Its stock as a rock except when I got it it had real bad reverse rake despite being all standard haha so fitted B310 top hats and chopped one coil out of the standard spring and it lowered it about 2-2.5" not has a slight bit of forward rake. I've got some little 1.5" lowering blocks to install I just haven't got round to it.
It also doesn't runt those Toms wheels anymore, they weren't a very good offset and had spacers and touched the struts slightly (were on the car when I got it) they were also incredibly buckled and just about shook you over the road at anything over 70kph!!
Now has b310 13" sunny steels and beauty rings and caps. Looks heaps better too.

nope, no differance in function somebody either wanted the tachometer or econometer from your car so they put the clock in that space.
